Shadow Warden
Shadow Warden Light Character from Jarmo Wallenius on Vimeo.

This is the main character from Shadow Warden, the game which was our school project. I modelled the character, did uv unwrapping, rigging, skinning and animations. I used Blender for everything else, except for the quick Zbrush sketch I did when we were pitching our game ideas. I was in the group which suggested Shadow Warden. There were 3 other game ideas too but our idea won. The Zbrush model is quite different from the final one because plans changed on the way. Texturing wasn't done by me as that task was given to another student while I was rigging and skinning the character.

Most of the character is just white light glow in the game anyway and thus it doesn't even use normal map. The character isn't as low poly as it could be because we had plans to use the same model in cutscenes. We didn't have time for those though, as the whole project was only 8 weeks. The character's rig is designed to work in cutscenes though, so there are some smaller details which aren't really necessary in the game. In the end the character's size on screen is so small, that it could've been very low poly and still looked ok. The current model has about 5500 triangles.

Originally the character was supposed to wear a poncho, but eventually we decided that it would limit the character's movements too much, so I replaced it with a cape.

 Rat character

3ds Max 2011, Zbrush. Photoshop

This was my best character model back in 2011. She was rigged with CAT character animation tool in 3d studio max 2011. She is the last character I modeled in 3ds max - for now at least.

Hotel suite

3ds Max 2011, Zbrush, Photoshop
Our task was to model a hotel room. I decided to model room from some abandoned hotel.
